Jamie’s Senior Year Kickoff at the Arizona State Cross Country Championships

Yesterday I had the chance to photograph Jamie, a Class of 2026 senior, as he competed in the Arizona State Cross Country Championships at Cave Creek Golf Course. It was the perfect way to kick off his senior year - doing something that truly represents who he is.

The atmosphere at the meet was buzzing with excitement. Teams lined the course, families cheered from every turn, and Jamie stepped into the chaos with calm focus. From warmups to the final stride of his 5K, I captured him in his element - determined, steady, and fully locked in.

This shoot marked the start of documenting his senior year, and starting with a moment this meaningful felt just right. Next up: his soccer season, where I’ll get to capture an entirely different side of his athletic story.
